MEET THE FAMILY
Our story begins with a move inspired by family.
We chose to leave London, UK, and return to Hilton Head Island, where we originally met, and be closer to my wife’s parents, giving our children the opportunity to grow up surrounded by grandparents and strong family ties. Soon after arriving, a family friend who was retiring offered us the chance to continue her staging business and to mentor us as we established ourselves in the community.
For Gerrard, this new chapter was built upon more than 15 years in international hospitality. Opening hotels across the UK and Europe for Marriott, Hilton, and Millennium, he worked alongside celebrated European designers who curate beautiful, impactful spaces from dramatic lobby entrances to serene guest rooms. Those experiences shaped his appreciation for detail, balance, and the subtle elements that make a space unforgettable.
Through Coastal Staging, we bring that knowledge of design and a coastal perspective to the homes of Hilton Head and Bluffton. This island is truly magical for our family, and we are grateful to help showcase its homes in a way that reflects both beauty and heart.

Their wealth of experience ranges from multi-million dollar international hotel chains to boutique department stores that complement and enhance every space they touch.
Sheri L
With over a decade of staging expertise, Sheri is an invaluable member of the Coastal Staging team. She has successfully staged a wide range of properties throughout Hilton Head, Bluffton, and surrounding areas, bringing both creative vision and market awareness to every project. Her experience in retail merchandising refined her ability to create balance, flow, and compelling focal points.
Sherry has a natural talent for creating inviting entrance moments that immediately set the tone for a home. She thoughtfully layers texture and scale to highlight architectural strengths while keeping spaces light, refined, and broadly appealing. One of her favourite elements to style is bookcases — she has a gift for turning shelving into curated focal points that truly make a room pop.
Strategic yet creative, Sherry approaches every project with precision and care. Homes in her hands are thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and confidently positioned for a strong market debut.
Gerrard Ball - Founder
Gerrard’s passion for staging and design was shaped long before Coastal Staging began. Over a 15-year career opening iconic hotels across the UK and Europe for Marriott, Hilton, and Millennium, he developed a deep appreciation for how thoughtfully curated spaces can shape experience, emotion, and connection. From grand lobby entrances to beautifully layered guest rooms, he witnessed firsthand how powerful design can make people instantly fall in love with a space.
That global hospitality experience now informs every home he touches in Hilton Head and Bluffton. Gerrard believes staging is about more than furniture placement; it’s about creating atmosphere, flow, and a feeling that allows buyers to envision their future. He is especially passionate about coastal-inspired design, blending natural textures, light palettes, and refined layering to reflect the beauty and lifestyle of Hilton Head Island.
For Gerrard, staging is personal. “As a founder-led business, we keep going until it’s right, refining details, enhancing presentation, and doing whatever it takes to ensure the selling process feels smooth and transitional for both homeowners and agents.” He believes in going above and beyond, not just to prepare a home for market, but to support families through change with care and professionalism.
Beyond hospitality and staging, Gerrard’s background in home building and remodelling began as a personal passion project, developing properties that helped people rebuild stability and independence. That spirit of giving back continues today through support of local charities and community initiatives here in the Lowcountry.
For Gerrard, beautiful spaces matter, but people matter more. This will always be what Coastal Staging strives for, and he is proud to combine both.
